How To Check Your Boobs

It's time to get serious. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and if there is one thing you need to do this month more than anything else it is to CHECK YOUR BOOBSIt really isn't hard, it really isn't weird and it really could save your life - so this month no matter your age, no matter your gender, it's time to grab life by the boobs.
We're following CoppaFeels boob guide 101 to make sure we've got the right technique down and all of our Katch Me Queens should be doing EXACTLY the same. We'll break it down for you, but make sure you check out the CoppaFeel boob check guide here.

Check EVERY Month

CoppaFeel advise that boob checking should be something that happens every month and seriously, think about everything else we do EVERY month - why isn't a monthly boob check in your diary too? It's quicker than having your hair done, its quicker than getting your nails did - it's time to make it part of your monthly self care. Checking on a regular basis will help you build confidence and you will learn what is normal for your body.

 Know Your Normal

No matter if it's boobs or pecs, it's seriously important to know what is normal for your body. CoppaFeel advise that it is important to get to know how your boobs feel throughout different phases of the month, boobs change regularly and it's important you know how they feel - that is how you will know to notice anything out of the ordinary.

Look & Feel

Make sure you look in the mirror during that monthly boob check. Some changes to your boobs can only be noticed by really looking at them, make sure you look for any changes in appearance and learn to recognise if anything is different. Side note: how much time do we spend looking in the mirror everyday anyway, what's five more minutes if it could save your life?

Collarbones & Armpits

It's so important to remember that breast tissue isn't just found in your boobs. Breast tissue goes all the way to your collarbones and underneath your armpit. SO, no matter your gender when you're checking it is important you check the whole area and make sure everything feels normal.

If In Doubt, Check It Out

Probably one of the most important tips is that if you aren't sure - get it checked out. CoppaFeel advise that after a week of monitoring if the symptom doesn't go away to contact your doctor. At times like right now we know that might seem impossible but it is so so important, don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

One last pointer we want to share with you. Don't forget to educate yourself, just like we have. We can't stress enough the importance of knowing what to look for and knowing the right way to check your boobs. Read about it, ask questions and check yourself. Make sure you head over to CoppaFeels website and learn the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and if you can, please donate to help support a cause that effects so many lives.
